In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Palatine; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Illinois are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11 am–8 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday, Tuesday. CCK has been consistently ‘amazing’ year after year. It’s a fun/cool spot, great atmosphere, stellar bar staff, fantastic management & an amazeballs kitchen staff of culinary champions. Combined, this well-oiled machine consistently serves some of the most mind-blowing drinks & plates in the state of Illinois. Unique to CCK, they are 1 of the only restaurants we frequent that have actually gotten better every single year (how many can you name?) Since day 1, CCK has had my favorite BBQ in the Midwest (their nearest competitor is in Murphysboro 400 miles south). The few restaurants that can actually archive “great” typically stop there, but the kitchen staff at CCK are true innovators & all about raising the bar. For a ‘food porn’ teaser, check out their reels on FB & salivate. It’s a lame 45 minute drive for us, but well worth the weekly trip as we always have a blast with great drinks & outstanding meals & we always end up with tasty leftovers & smiles. The staff treat every customer as friends, as though every person who walks in the door is their most important customer. They truly evoke 'fun'. Worth noting is the 3-way tie (Jay vs Katie vs Katie) for ‘all time’ BEST B

Delcious. Been here many times. Amish 1/2 Chicken: Tender, juicy, smokey, and crispy skin. 10 of 10 Papas Bravas: Wedges, plump, crospy soft inside, perfectly crospy and soft, the sauce was excellent. 10 of 10 Put bbq saice on a coupel of them because we did not order bbq. Mac and Cheese: Delicuous, perfect consistency, rich, creamy, flavored nicely but add salt if you want. We ordered with extra flaming hot cheetos cause that how we like em. Smash burger: First round on the smash burger, super tasty patty, thick cut bacon nicely carmelized. Sinny sode up egg was cooked excellently too. It was a crime to put bbq sauce on any of it, it was so good, so I dipped some papas in some of the sauces. Not too many pics this round but there are pics when you press order on there web page. Thanks CCK

What have you done?! We are officially hooked. This isn't your average sandwich shop. Their menu is constantly rotating, so there is always a new reason to visit (pro tip: follow @cckkitchen or you’ll have major FOMO). The “SUPER Katz” Reuben with smoked corn beef is a total game-changer, and do not skip the truffle salt fries—the gochu-chup is the dipping sauce I didn’t know I needed in my life. The “BIG Buffalo Chicken”also lived up to the hype; the breadcrumbs are seasoned to perfection and provide that elite crunch while keeping the chicken incredibly juicy. Even when they sell out of a popular item, their "backup" options are still 5-star quality. Great vibes, local drafts, and even better food. We’re already counting down to our next visit! Thanks CCK

The other recent reviews are on target. When it’s good it’s very very good and sometimes a dish misses. The atmosphere is … not my favorite but I see where it works for the crowd. We’ve been doing takeout and probably will stick to it. The char siu pig wings were a favorite this time. They taste exactly like what we expected and the meat is tender enough to fall off the bone. The chicken Caesar sandwich special is good but needed a bit more dressing. The fries had a bit too much salt and not much truffle taste. We took home some back alley ribs which continue to be our absolute favorite, most creative ribs in the area. Keep it coming, going in knowing some of the creativity may not always work but the attitude is there to keep trying and come up with some real hits.

First visit here and the food was fabulous. I had the Steakhouse Smashburger, Truffle Salt Fries, and Creamy Dreamy Potato Salad. The Legacy and Texas Hippie sauces were both top shelf. My wife had the 1/2lb Brisket. We both loved our meals. The atmosphere was okay, but the music a tad too loud with the genre leaning much more toward Heavy Metal, than "Rock and Roll" as advertised on the window. At least while we were in the building. My next visit will likely be for carryout.
